Disposition: At first glance, Hapi seems to be disinterested in everything around her that isn't related to her immediate needs. And it's a little more complicated than that, but for the most part it's true - she truly has no interest at all in the snarl of allegiances and politics that defines the lives of her schoolmates. It's irrelevant to her, and she treats it and everything else that isn't going to feed her or put shelter over her head with all the reverence she feels it deserves. Which is none at all.
But her disinterest is also deliberately cultivated as a result of a magical condition she suffers from. She cannot express negative emotions without putting everyone around her at risk. And so she performs apathy instead. She does her best to communicate everything that's bothering her in words to keep it from coming out in a way that might cause danger to others, resulting in her being pretty negative despite being on the whole a person who is easy to make content. She's fairly upfront about her cultivated lack of vulnerability, and it's hard to get her to be too expressive without catching her off guard.
She judges authority figures harshly due to having a difficult history with them and she's very cynical about the concept of heroes and people just doing good things because they're the right thing to do. Despite this, she herself is capable of being incredibly kind and puts human lives before anything else, being immediately willing to give up an artefact of incredible power to save one person. Deep down, she still believes in heroes and wants to encounter one, she's just braced herself so hard for disappointment that she's convinced herself she never will. Even though she's drawn to people who are kind, it takes a lot for her to finally catch on that they are good people rather than just hopelessly naïve.
At her current canonpoint, she's defined by both her loyalty and, despite her cynicism about everything, an almost childish sense of hope. As of the timeskip, she's spent the last five years searching under a monastery for the body of her teacher. Part of this is that unlike the other characters she has literally nothing better to so, but part of it is that she still believes that she's going to find them, sooner or later.
Suitability: Hapi is liable to find herself at odds with the structure of the setting and will be eager to not be dependant upon authority figures. That said, she'll be very sympathetic toward Malachite. Poor kid never asked to exist and certainly didn't ask to have such destructive powers, a thing that Hapi herself identifies with intensely. Also, who HASN'T been willing to tear the world apart just to get a good nap?
Most weirdness doesn't bother Hapi at all, and that includes just about any transformations she might go through. Being treated as monstrous by the locals might hit hard, but she's used to it and she won't let it affect her too much outwardly. The sudden emotional shifts are more troubling to her because of her powers, but she'll at least give the impression of taking them in stride (and maybe recruit fellow gembonded to help deal with any monsters she accidentally produces).
Synchrony is rad, and being able to sit in a not!starbucks all day with someone and just pay for infinite coffee by snuggling up to them is Basically The Dream. Despite her distrust of the local government, she's liable to just end up being a model little gembonded because what the heck, she can buy cake by attaching to people who she likes and also it makes hugs extra good and huggy? Why would she NOT be doing synchrony at all times.
Condition upon arrival: Slightly freaked out, trying very hard not to express it. Will inform rescuers that she's liable to accidentally summon monsters and potentially request power-limiting cuffs.
Abilities: Fire Emblem Three Houses is a 'develop characters how you want to' sort of game, but Hapi is for the most part intended to act as a mage. Like other characters with a connection to the organisation Those Who Slither In The Dark, she specialises in dark magic rather than elemental magic, and she can use some magic to support allies. She gets along well with animals.
Her crest augments her healing magic and also summons monsters and makes them care for her, though the latter is not entirely within her control at her current canon point.
Inventory: probably just a selection of cool-looking rocks and a few snacks that have been in her pocket too long.

As a result of this, she lives in the church's weird sin basement, separated from the people who actually matter so she can't accidentally hurt them. Because of the potential harm that she could do if she were to accidentally express displeasure at the wrong time, she's more frank than perhaps most people think she ought to be with her negative thoughts to avoid holding them in and causing disaster.
She's either 20 or 25 depending on canonpoint and I'm fairly agnostic with regards to when chronologically I play her from - icons are post-timeskip (25) because I think her hair looks cuter at that point rather than for any deep character reason.
